About Me

In December of 2017, I graduated from West Virginia University (WVU) with a Bachelor’s in English. WVU is located in my hometown of Morgantown, West Virginia. I still live there with my two cats, Calvin and Gracie. In addition to writing, I like to pursue other creative endeavors that I'm not nearly as good at (and really have no business pursuing), like painting, photography, fiber arts, and model-building. I also love to hike and learn all I can about the flora and fauna of West Virginia and the rest of this little slice of heaven we call Appalachia.

My Work History

From summer 2015 to fall 2016, I worked as a Marketing and Communications intern at WVU’s College of Education and Human Services (CEHS). Under the supervision of the College’s Director of Marketing and Communications, I conducted interviews with faculty, alumni, and donors, wrote press releases for publication in WVUToday (The University’s primary e-news outlet) and researched and produced feature-length articles for the College’s biannual magazine. Those pieces can be found in the articles and press releases section of this website.

From 2017-2019, I worked as a grant writer and education coordinator for Friends of Deckers Creek (FODC), a non-profit watershed group based in Morgantown. During that time, I helped write and edit countless grant proposals, a few of which can be found in the grants section of this website.

I love to learn, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have had so far to explore writing for different genres and contexts. The greatest goal I have for my future career is to be able to learn something new every day, meet a variety of people, and garner new writing skills.
